Postcard Assemblage
After completing my “Postcards,” I translated the collages into a brown cardboard model to unify the themes into a single assemblage. Rather than using colored cardboard to represent Shanghai’s greenery, I incorporated actual butterfly wings from my die hua work, which added both aesthetic dimensionality as well as symbolic resonance.
